Beta-myrcene is a monoterpene that is octa-1,6-diene bearing methylene and methyl substituents at positions 3 and 7 respectively. It has a role as a volatile oil component, a flavouring agent, an anabolic agent, a fragrance, an anti-inflammatory agent and a plant metabolite.
